Some 35 years after Ridley Scott underwhelmed the box office, yet became an icon of sci-fi lore with his hallmark science fiction film, Blade Runner, the filmmaker once again leaves his mark on the genre with the release of the first full-length trailer (courtesy of Warner Bros.) for Blade Runner 2049, which he is executive producing.

Scott has been working on the follow up since 2009, but has since turned over the reigns of the franchise to the capable hands of Denis Villeneuve who brought us last year's thinking man’s sci-fi thriller, Arrival.

While we don’t get a whole lot from the new trailer - and quite honestly, the teaser, which was released at the end of last year did a better job of creating an appropriate mood, we do get out first look at Jared Leto and Robin Wright who have major roles in the film.

Ryan Gosling will star as K, a new blade runner who is hunting down the legendary Rick Deckard who may hold a vital secret that could save the entire human species.
