Last Vegas - Movie Trailer

“I got news,” Michael Douglas says in the trailer to the movie Last Vegas, coming out in November. “I’m getting married.” When it’s revealed that his fiancée is much younger, it seems like a sly in- joke: Douglas’s real wife Catherine Zeta-Jones is 25 years his junior. If you get just one impression from the trailer, it’s that these guys aren’t afraid to laugh at themselves.

Last Vegas is the story of a group of friends in their 60s who throw a wild Las Vegas bachelor party when the last single member proposes to his girlfriend. The plot draws obvious comparisons to the Hangover trilogy, albeit with older characters – “the Hangover for geriatrics,” quips the Los Angeles Times. But the quality cast promises something better than a rip-off: besides Michael Douglas it includes Morgan Freeman, Robert De Niro and Kevin Kline.

Writers Adam Brooks (Definitely, Maybe) and Dan Fogelman (The Guilt Trip) teamed up to write the screenplay. Director Jon Turteltaub previously dealt with themes of youth and age in Disney’s The Kid (2000), starring Bruce Willis as a jaded adult who meets the 8-year- old version of himself and finally makes peace with his past.

The movie Last Vegas comes to theaters on November 1, 2013. Watch the full trailer below:
