Iron Man 3 Banner

The Iron Man 3 media push got into full swing this week when on Sunday an influx of fans to the movie's Facebook page unleashed a short preview of the trailer that hit the web today.

You will, of course, remember that production had to be stopped when Iron Man star Robert Downey, Jr. suffered an injury several months ago while filming the superhero thriller. With production now fully ramped back up, so is the marketing campaign with the newly released trailer that you can watch below.

Iron Man 3 is obviously the sequel to the two previous Iron Man films, but it is also acting as a sequel to Marvel's tremendously successful The Avengers which smashed box office records this past summer as the man of iron joined forces with many characters from the Marvel super-hero world.

This time, Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) is up against an even more evil enemy when he finds his personal world destroyed at the hands of an enemy who knows no bounds. Stark's journey to uncover the bad guy will test his mettle at every turn. As he fights his way back, Stark discovers the answer to the question that has secretly haunted him: does the man make the suit or does the suit make the man?

Iron Man 3 won't be ready for theaters until May 3 of 2013, but in the meantime, you can chew on the trailer that features our first look at Ben Kingsley as The Mandarin in addition to a pretty startling destruction of Stark's oceanside home.

Iron Man 3 is being directed this time around by Shane Black (who is also writing the script) and also stars Guy Pearce, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley, and Don Cheadle.
