[REC] 3: Genesis Red-ban Trailer

"For what God has joined together, let no man tear apart!" So goes the voiceover in the grisly new red band trailer for Paco Plaza's [REC]3 Genesis, the third film in his Spanish language virus-infected-zombie thriller series that found only modest success in an English-language crossover series renamed with the Quarantine monicker. It seems the the blood-born virus we first discovered in [REC] and [REC]2 has since escaped the apartment building where infected people savagely devoured one another and is now running rampant through a wedding party as it turns virgin white into deep crimson.

[REC] 3 tells the story of a young couple's wedding where guests, as well as the bride (Leticia Dolera) and groom (Diego Martin), are forced to fight for themselves as a virus gets loose and infects the festivities with a mysterious infection that quickly leads to bloody carnage and zombie mayhem.

Word has it the events of 3 will not only tie together many of the loose strings from the first two films in the franchise, but will also set the bloody stage for [REC] 4: Apocalypse which is slated to close out the series that resurrected the found footage film phenomenon. 4 will reportedly feature very little of the shaky-cam technique.

[REC] 3:Genesis will first become available for download via tines on August 3, 2012 before picking up a limited theatrical release on September 7th.
