Epic Movie Trailer

Looks like audiences are in for a revisit to the tiny world of bugs that exists below our feet, deep in the forest of grass, leaves and dirt. But this time it's not from the animation powerhouse Pixar, but rather the much more diminutive Blu Sky studios that lists such feature films as Robots, the Ice Age films and Horton Hears a Who to its credit.

Blue Sky just released a trailer for its new film called Epic which is sure to draw comparisons to A Big's Life and Fern Gully (or even Avatar), but the story comes from the William Joyce novel titled The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs.

You can watch the teaser trailer below which touches on the film's story about a teenager named Mary Katherine (voiced by Amanda Seyfried), who is magically transported into a secret world embroiled in a constant battle between good and evil. Mary Katherine finds that she must join forces with "a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters" with hopes wiping out the evil forces that threaten this mystical world at the forest floor.

Also among the cast are Beyonce Knowles, Colin Farrell, and Josh Hutcherson. Epic is slated to kick off next year's summer movie season with a May 17, 2013 release.
