Dallas Comic ConAttention Comic-Book Crusaders!  The Dallas Comic-Con arrives this weekend for two days (May 21st & 22nd) of fun-filled super hero escapades and celebrity sightings.  In a much larger venue this year, the new 300,000-square-foot Irving Convention Center, the Dallas Comic-Con hopes to set a precedent in attendance this year.  In attendance will be Mr. Leonard Nimoy (Saturday only) from Star Trek, In Search Of, and Fringe and Ms. Carrie Fischer best known for her portrayal of Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies.  Fischer will be in attendance both days and will be signing autographs for fans.

Also in attendance will be the one and only Mr. Stan “The Man” Lee!  Lee is a famous comic book writer, producer, celebrity personality, and the former president and chairman of Marvel Comics. He co-created Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, X-Men, The Avengers, Iron Man, The Hulk and many other titles.

Members of the Zombie Survival Crew from AMC-TV’s The Walking Dead will be on hand. Other actors appearing are John Wesley Shipp (star of The Flash TV series), Tom Jane (The Punisher), Richard LeParmentier (“Admiral Motti” in Star Wars: A New Hope), and Amanda Pays (“Tina” in The Flash). Screenwriter and actor Todd Farmer (My Bloody Valentine, Jason X) also will be there for those Horror Hounds among us.

Hours for the two-day convention are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 21, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 22. The Irving Convention Center is at 500 W. Las Colinas Blvd., at the intersection of SH114 and Northwest Highway in Irving, Texas.  Daily general admission is $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Admission includes free parking.  Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paid adult.
