David Hasselhoff Piranha 3DDDavid Hasselhoff is heading back to the water in Piranha 3DD. Dimension Films has confirmed that the Britain's Got Talent judge and former Baywatch head hunk will join the previously announced cast which includes Ving Rhames, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, Gary Busey, Katrina Bowden, Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush, Chris Zylka and David Koechner.

Piranha 3DD is the follow-up to Alexandre Aja's 2010 surprise hit, Piranha 3D, a film that made if fun to not go back in the water… again. Unlike that film which featured a man-eating-fish feeding frenzy upon reveler's at Lake Victoria's annual Spring party, the horror in Piranha 3DD will take place in a water park that becomes infested with the hungry little buggers.

Aside from his stint on the hit British talent show, Hasselhof hasn't been able to find much work of late save for an appearance in Mitchell Klebanoff, Kelly Sandefur's Dancing Ninja and of course his little shirtless hamburger-eating YouTube bit. The actor came into prominence when he portrayed the popular Dr. Snapper Foster for six seasons on the CBS soap opera, The Young and the Restless.

Piranha 3DD is currently under production and is slated for a November 2011 theatrical release with Feast director and Project Greenlight winner, John Gulager at the helm.

UPDATE: we just received a little more information on Hasselhof's role. The guys over at Moviehole.com say he'll play himself. It’s a small cameo. The Hoff is basically performing at the film’s central locale and gets caught up in the ferocious-fishy action.
