Homewrecker

“Linda, I didn’t faint did I?”  With that question, Michelle (Alex Essoe, Doctor Sleep) suddenly realizes just how much trouble she is currently in.  Linda (Precious Chong) is a fruitloop and, after spending the afternoon watching Shannon Doherty and Jessica Parker in Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, she decides to bean Michelle over the head and lock her in a room.

"Deep unsettling and chilling, yet somehow also very funny, Homewrecker is one hell of a hit over the head"

Poor, lonely Linda.  She just wants to have a girl’s day.and talk about boys FOREVER! But Michelle is paying a heavy price for all the other selfish Instagrammers out there and, in that way, Homewrecker makes its point as the two females battle it out with sex toys and love cuffs.

From Uncork’d Entertainment and Dark Star Pictures, Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep) and Precious Chong (L.A Confidential) star in director Zach Gayne’s modern look at loneliness as an interior designer and newlywed finds herself entangled in the wickedly whacked world of Linda, who lives alone and fills her days with (maybe) painting and exercise classes. {googleads}

Linda wants a brand-new friend and sees her chance in Michelle, so - after making an awkward connection at their exercise class - makes another appearance at the coffee shop and winds up inviting herself to sit down with her.  Pretty soon, she’s inviting Michelle, who is very reserved and concerned, into her home for a spontaneous interior design consultation.

Once inside, it quickly becomes clear that Linda has something far more sinister on her mind than finding the right color for her walls.  Get out, Michelle!  Before it is . . . too late!

Written by Precious Chong, Alex Essoe and Zach Gayne, Homewrecker is both dark and comical as Michelle becomes a captive audience to some pretty insane conversations and commentaries within the walls of Linda’s home.  And, on the few occasions when Michelle actually makes it past her and out the door, it’s only momentary.  From backyard brawls to slippery stairs, Linda has it in for Michelle and makes her captivity an afternoon to never forget.Homewrecker

Both these women want something.  Whether it is to be heard and be themselves around the people they love, their focus is on trying to find out what they really want and, when they put the mallets down and stop fighting with each other, some dark truths are revealed as this movie showcases both actresses’ talents.  Chong as Linda is both bubbly and insane as she sings Lisa Loeb’s “Stay ( I Missed You)” while Michelle discovers some really dark, dark truths while being locked in a dark room.

Deep unsettling and chilling, yet somehow also very funny, Homewrecker is one hell of a hit over the head.  In select drive-ins already, the film is set to be released on DVD and Digital July 7th from Uncork’d Entertainment and Dark Star Pictures.

Thanks to a dark finale, Homewrecker might not be for the squeamish, but fans of Misery are going to eat it up.
