Hellboy- New Movie Trailer

Summit and Lionsgate have just released the first official trailer and poster of the Hellboy reboot which is, this time around, directed by Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers, The Descent). You can check out both of them below.

The film features David Harbour (Stranger Things) as the titular character and will be joined by Deadwood's Ian McShane who will depict Hellboy's adoptive father, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm, Resident Evil's Milla Jovovich as the villainous Blood Queen, and American Honey's Sasha Lane who will play Alice Monaghan.

Of course, Guillermo del Toro directed the original Hellboy which starred Ron Perlman in the title role, as well as its follow up Hellboy II: The Golden Army, so there are certainly some big shoes to fill, but Marshal is certainly no stranger to the genre having put his stamp on the horror classic The Descent while also earning acclaim for his involvement in some of the most iconic Game of Thrones episodes.{googleads}

This Hellboy reboot was co-written by Hellboy comic book creator Mike Mignola so it appears we are set to get a first-hand supernatural take on the character that is lifted directly from the source material. Probably a good idea not to try and one up del Toro's excellent 2004 vision. Andrew Cosby co-writes the script. Additionally, this take will reportedly get the R-rating many fans have been asking for.

The film is due in theaters and on iMax on April 12th of next year.
