Dumbo - First Teaser Trailer

From the deep purse strings of Disney and the imagination of Tim Burton comes the first teaser trailer for the remake of the Disney classic Dumbo, about a flying elephant who saves a struggling circus. And you can watch it below.

The reimagined Dumbo follows the same basic story structure as the 1941 original, but this time around is told as a live-action adventure with a computer-generated Dumbo the elephant. The story has received some plot updates as well with Tim Burton's own take on the visual and storytelling aspects that can only be from the filmmaker's unique imagination. We expect a much darker telling and this first footage seems to confirm that.

The trailer also features an original recording of the iconic song Baby Mine, performed by Norwegian singer-songwriter Aurora. Those of a certain age might recall that the film received an Oscar nomination for best original song for Baby Mine which was heard in the original during Dumbo's visit to his mother while she is locked up in solitary confinement.

There's not much to see here, after all it is a teaser, but we do get a good look at many of the film's characters and, fortunately, we get to see Dumbo fly as he raised high inside a circus tent on a platform before jumping off to soar over the roaring crowd. There even appears to be what looks like the return of the pink elephants that were so loved in the 1941 original.
