Dream Division

Dream Division returns with its analog experimentations!

Using the Roland Juno-6, the Roland SH-101, the Roland RS-09, and the Korg Mono/poly synthesizer for its source of sounds, horror and dismay has never sounded as LIVE and DIRECT as it does here on the three-tracks that make up the INCREDIBLY DARK Vulture EP.

"immediately thrusts us into a unique world of trashy video cover art where even nastier, blood gurgling kills await those brave enough to PRESS PLAY"

Dream Division, thanks to the 50-second “Intro” immediately thrusts us into a unique world of trashy video cover art where even nastier, blood gurgling kills await those brave enough to PRESS PLAY.  We are talking Doom Asylum here.  This is the territory of schlockmeisters like Bloody New Year and Headhunter and, for this former VHS hunter, I couldn’t be more thrilled to have this slice of horror in my Bandcamp collection.

Dream Division

As the narrated introduction ends its frightening pitch, we get a final warning.  Some THING is stalking us.  The music here is a nasty reminder that dark things exist.  And then the sequencing gets us electronically matted with the ever-circling sonic dripping that is the bloody backbone of “Vulture’s Prey”.  Life as we know it ENDS here.

There will be NO ESCAPE from the winding the tape back into its case via two white wheels either.  We are caught within the shadow of the vulture’s wings.

The oozing mood of watching horror on VHS is unavoidable.  Kids, seek this treasure out.  Lose yourself to the tracking issues and the imperfections that made the discovery of these little-known titles so exciting because, yes, it is documented here.  The music here invites the same shadowy spirit. Go ahead, indulge.

The searing synths continue to slice through our earholes with the hypnotic mood of “The Curse”, a song that reminds us immediately that, yes, in this landscape of slashers and hockey masks, WE ARE THE HUNTED. It is a track that is definitely NOT for the faint of heart.

Once tagged, you are NOT avoiding your fate.

Time to get grimy!
