Dawn of the Beast

There is an area deep in the heart of the northwestern wilderness known for its recurring sightings of strange creatures.  From the legendary Bigfoot (or as my son calls him, BIG TOE) to other mysterious creatures, this is an area that from September to October is known as a place where you definitely do not want to visit.

"Suspenseful and solidly executed, Dawn of the Beast is a well-acted, well-handled monster movie"

Dawn of the Beast, a BIG ASS monster movie which sees Bigfoot AND the Wendigo going at it, explains why.  People go missing in - what the locals refer to as - the DEAD MONTH.  It’s to be expected and, thanks to the suspense kicked up in each frame of this flick, there’s little doubt as to what has happened to them.

These monsters take no prisoners.

Directed by Bruce Wemple (The Retreat; Monstrous; Lake Artifact; Altered Hours) and written by Anna Shields, Dawn of the Beast feels like a call to arms as monstrous eyes in the dead of night reveal themselves to be BIG BEASTIES that are ready for battle.  The stupid humans that dare to enter their area soon chomped, clawed, and turned into carnage.  The screaming is only the beginning of the end in this entertaining FEAST.

That’s what happens when a group of students venture deep into an area of the Northeastern wilderness known for its strange creature sightings. Oh, these COOL CATS AND KITTENS were warned, but they chose not to listen to the voices of concern. Big mistake, but their error is part of the fun in this thriller.Dawn of the Beast

But, thanks to an EPIC opening, audiences get right to the grit and the gristle of the creatures that lie in wait for all who dare enter this “paradise” of uncharted territories in the Northeast.  The BIG SURPRISE is in just how well the effects are because, thanks to a gnarly use of practical effects and legit monster goop and grease, there’s lots to see when it comes to what lurks in the detailed shadows of this horror flick.

Silenced, split in two, and dragged deep into a literal HELL ON EARTH, these young adults soon find that there is NO ESCAPE from the strange creatures feasting on their flesh. These monsters are hungry and, making a habit of hunting all the travelers who trespass, ignoring all risks to their life and limbs, they dine and dine again.

Suspenseful and solidly executed, Dawn of the Beast is a well-acted, well-handled monster movie that, on the eve of another GIGANTIC monster match (I am, of course, talking about Godzilla vs. Kong) makes a name for itself among all the other B-movies out there.  This one has TEETH!

The question is who will survive in a battle between the two most notorious monsters of the forest?

Starring Adrian Burke, Ariella Mastroianni, Grant Schumacher, Anna Shields, Dawn of the Beast premieres on DVD and Digital April 6 from Uncork'd Entertainment.
